Thursday, 9th May ‚Äď at 6.30pm - FOOD, FAITH, FUN.¬† The Catholic Campus ¬†Ministry at the University of Zurich (called "aki") invites international students at university, ETH, PH, ZHdK and ZHAW, to an event that was such a success last year, it was decided to repeat the experience this year on May 9th.¬† The staff at aki are always striving to cater to international students as well, and this is just one event to connect with you and show you that aki can serve as a kind of "home away from home", especially during weekdays. ¬†The get-together begins at 6.30pm with prayer, followed by food + activities.¬† The address to be is Hirschengraben 86, 8001 Zurich.

Fridays, 10th + 24th May - at 6.30pm (immediately after the 6pm Mass), our Bible Prayer Group will meet in room Aggäus.  All are welcome to join.

Members of the ESCM are asked to support the Food Pantry for our community members by delivering to the Mission office the following items: toiletries for men and women, household detergents, etc. and all non-perishable food items, e.g.: canned fruits, vegetables, soups, meats, tuna, corned beef, dried fruits and cereals, biscuits, sugar, salt, rice, packet soup, pasta sauces, vinegar, cooking oil, etc.  All donations are gratefully received.  Our next distribution will be on Wednesday 15th May, 2-3pm.  Please be punctual!!!  Thank you.

Sunday, 19th May - Mango Lassi sale after Sunday service - supporting the Sudan and  Uganda Drink Water Projects.

Children First Association - Save the date for our Global Book Fair on 25th May. Sunday, 26th May, is our First Communion Sunday.  12 children of the ESCM will receive the body of Christ for the first time.  Please remember them in your prayers.

The English Speaking Roman Catholic Mission in Zurich has been worshipping in St Anton`s Swiss Catholic Parish, since 1962.

St Anton`s Church is a magnificent and beautiful building which in 2009 celebrated 100 years as a place of worship.

The ESCM serves all Catholics who speak English, live in Canton Zurich, and wish to pray and receive the Sacraments in the English language.

4th + 5th ‚Äď Educational Project "Shuar Villages" in Ecuador.¬† Their project aims to help indigenous children of the Ecuadorian Amazon to obtain basic school supplies (holster, backpack for school, shoes for regular classes + physical education); to organize breakfast for the children; to organize a micro campaign to fight infections and parasites affecting children.¬† The Parish of Santa Ana de los Encuentros, is a parish covering 27 villages, of which 6 are indigenous Shuar.¬† The parents work in the fields and sell their produce, but do not earn enough to support all family needs.¬† Care + hygiene is difficult because of a lack of water purification, leading to the strong presence of insects and parasites, contagious diseases, infections and diarrhea.¬†

11th + 12th ‚Äď These collections are for the CMI-HUDUMA Project for Mentally and Physically Challenged Children and Youth in Kibiko, Diocese of Ngong, Kenya.¬† This project was initiated by the congregation of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) active in Kenya and Tanzania, for the holistic development of people.

¬†18th + 19th ‚Äď These collections are for our Drink Water Projects in South Sudan + Uganda, for the construction of water tanks and pit latrines in Roman Catholic parishes and schools.

25th + 26th ‚ÄďFor the work and needs of our own Mission community.¬† www.englishmission.ch
